In my practice as a mental health therapist, I’ve seen many clients transform their lives. Today, I’m sharing a story about a client who overcame childhood trauma and depression through dedicated therapy. Her journey showcases the healing power of trauma reprocessing, EMDR, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
Healing the Inner Child and Gaining New Perspectives
The client has been seeing me for a few years, working through childhood issues rooted in a dysfunctional family. Her childhood left her battling depression and anxiety. We worked hard to process her traumas and negative core beliefs. She gained new perspectives on her childhood trauma, and we worked together to soothe her inner child. She learned to grieve the lost childhood and the healthy one she missed out on enjoying.
Through our time in therapy, we focused on trauma reprocessing, EMDR, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Together, we tackled her mental health issues, leading to significant relief from her symptoms and a healthier approach to life. Through therapy, she developed new, positive coping skills to manage her mental health issues. This allowed her to rejoin life with a more healthy outlook.
Navigating a Painful Separation with Trauma Therapy Tools
Recently, she faced a painful separation from her husband. Despite the grief and loss, she realized she had the tools to navigate this crisis. Therapy didn’t take away the pain, but it helped her approach it in a healthier way than she would have before therapy.

Little did I know that all I needed was an umbrella ☔️ to weather the storm, not faster swimming skills or new running shoes but the mindset of knowing this too shall pass. The sun is on the other side of the storm ☀️ all I have to do is wait patiently.
